Hello Bloodthirsty Backers,
It's not quite the end of the year (the end of 2020 can't come soon enough!), but I wanted to get this out early so we can maybe have a little bit of quiet time during these year end holidays.
Trying to imagine vampires wearing masks now...
This year has obviously been full of unexpected challenges and difficult times. Our campaign funded at the beginning of this year, but it seems like it's been about 5 years since then! Despite the challenges and obstacles thrown at the Onyx Path team, with great effort and resilience, they were able to deliver our PDF reward earlier than anticipated! Normally, I'd call that a win. But it 2020, that counts as a double-win and I'm very happy to have had at least one big victory this year (although it had nothing to do with me, I will always celebrate a job well done!)

ONYX PATH ON KICKSTARTER IN 2020
To say this year was challenging would be an understatement. Despite difficult, uncertainty, and demanding situations, the Onyx Path team continued to work on the great projects that have made us fans. It wasn't easy - schedules shifted, delays managed, and difficulties dealt with - but here we are at the end of 2020 with some victories to show!
Kickstarter continues to be an important part of the process for Onyx Path, and looking at the long list of projects in the works on the Monday Meeting Notes blog, it certainly looks like that’ll continue to be the case in 2021.
Rather than just take pre-order for an upcoming project, Kickstarter has allowed Onyx Path to gauge interest in game lines (to see if they should develop additional projects beyond those offered during the campaign), and sometimes even add additional projects to a game line immediately via Stretch Goal achievements. More importantly, it’s a chance to interact with the community and for everyone to get involved from the earliest stages.
Looking at 2020, Onyx Path had 7 Kickstarter campaigns funded, with one more currently on the go!
And, though the campaign still has a few days to go, the recent DeadMan's Rust mega-adventure and setting supplement for ScarredLands 5th Edition has funded, which means it will get added to the list soon!

FEEDBACK from a WEEK BACK
It's been a week since we received our backer's copies of the Cults of the Blood Gods PDF! I'm still excited! I love it! But, this is a reminder that Onyx Path has their Feedback Form open for one more week. If you've caught a typo or think something's unclear of have other feedback that can help make the book even better, remember to get it in as soon as possible. In about a week, they'll be closing down feedback collection and use our submissions to put the final polish on the book and it moves closer towards printing and release.

We're not quite ready for the month end update, but I didn't want to wait another week before sending this out because it's too exciting!!

CULTS OF THE BLOOD GODS BACKER PDF
Cults of the Blood Gods includes:
An in-character breakdown of the rise of esoteric beliefs among the ranks of the undead and how faith drives many of the major aspects of vampire culture.
A host of religions — from historic theocracies and globe-spanning conspiracies to fringe cults and mortal beliefs arising in the modern nights — introduced for incorporation into your character backgrounds or as supporting casts and antagonist groups in your chronicles.
The history, structure, and ambitions of the Hecata, the vampire group known as the Clan of Death, as well as a chapter dedicated to playing a vampire among the Necromancers, and the rituals for their signature Discipline: Oblivion.
Guidance on how to use ecclesiastical horror and construct cults in Vampire, making them a vivid backdrop for your own stories, including new coterie styles focused on cult play.
Faith-based story hooks and a full chronicle centered on the activities of the Hecata, involving walking corpses, ghosts, ready-made characters, and the secrets of the most twisted family in the World of Darnkness.
New Loresheets, Backgrounds, and Predator types for inclusion in your chronicles, encouraging player characters to engage fully with the material presented in this book.
Of course, I'm listing all of that knowing that you're already familiar with book! It's never not fun to have a summary and remember everything that's included! And, it's a good moment to catch our breath as we head into reward distribution info!

BACKER PDF VERSION
This is the first version of Cults of the Blood Gods to be released. We've sent you this initial Backer PDF for three reasons:
1) Who wants to wait?! These projects can take a long time to turn into final releases - you know that - and the Onyx Path team wants to get them into your hands as quickly as possible!
2) To thank you for your support! This project, literally, is a direct result of your support during the Kickstarter campaign. You deserve to see it before anyone else!
3) To make the final version the best it can be! The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. If you catch any typos, incorrect math, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.
With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the Cults of the Blood GodsFeedback Form!
Generally, Onxy Path tries to keep errata collection open for the next 2 weeks, so please report what you can as soon as possible to make sure they're getting everything covered.
They won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form. Please note this form will be for errata only - typos, incorrect math, page elements that overlap incorrectly, issuesthat need clarification,etc. It won't be for general book discussion - you can do that in a different thread, or on the Kickstarter comments page.
Also, they already know about any Page XX notations - those are usually corrected after any changes are made and the books are being finalized.
After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), they will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.
You've already made the book a reality with your Kickstarter support. Now you can make it even better by helping us crowdsource any minor errors and corrections.

These ghosts, and more, haunt our world. They watch us, they torment us, they play with us, they find themselves locked in Sisyphean cycles, where the only respite comes through the haunting of the living.

A wide array of story hooks and rich storytelling advice for those who wish to run a game of Ghost Hunters set alongside any of the World of Darkness 20A games.

Some good progress on our Stretch Goal supplements. With licensed properties like this, there are many more people involved than there would be in a strictly Onyx Path project. Of course, those involved are experts in all things Vampire, so it's just about making sure the book is as perfect as can be! Hopefully the creative team will get notes and be able to make revisions and get the book off to the next stages soon, while our main book continues along it's progress path.
